The SkyWatcher 150/750 Reflector Telescope features a 150mm aperture, allowing for detailed planetary observations and deep sky exploration. This telescope collects 459 times more light than the unaided eye, making it possible to observe fine planetary details and hundreds of deep sky objects such as nebulae, galaxies, and clusters. Under optimal conditions, the resolution can reach 0.80″, enabling stunning views of the rings of Saturn, features on Mars, the atmosphere of Jupiter, and the phases of Venus. Globular clusters will reveal thousands of stars, and nebulae will display intricate gas filaments against the dark sky. The fast f/5 focal ratio is also ideal for astrophotography, capturing sharp and vivid images.
Equatorial Mount Features
The included EQ3 mount offers the convenience of compensating for Earth's rotation, which is essential for high-resolution observation. With this mount, tracking an object across the sky is as simple as turning a single knob. The EQ3 is a lightweight German equatorial mount that supports the SkyWatcher 150/750 with ease. Its altitude and azimuth fine adjustment knobs simplify polar alignment, and the mount's gears ensure accurate tracking. The heavy-duty aluminium tripod enhances stability and minimizes vibrations caused by wind.
Aligning the equatorial mount is straightforward and can be completed in minutes. After leveling the tripod and orienting the mount south, incline the mount to match your local latitude. For example, in Sydney (latitude 33° South), adjust the mount inclination to 33° above the horizon using the scale on the EQ3 mount.
Optional dual-axis motors can be easily connected to the mount for automatic tracking. For the ultimate upgrade, the computerised SynScan system allows for automatic pointing and tracking of over 42,000 celestial objects, saving time and enhancing the observing experience.
