The ToupTek G3M224C Colour Planetary Camera is an exceptional entry-level astrophotography camera designed specifically for high-resolution planetary imaging. At the heart of this camera lies the Sony IMX224 CMOS sensor, a back-illuminated sensor with a 3.8 megapixel resolution of 2032 x 1920 pixels. The large 3.75μm pixel size, combined with the back-illuminated architecture, provides high sensitivity and low noise performance, enabling the camera to capture detailed planetary images and videos with exceptional clarity. The sensor boasts a quantum efficiency of up to 75% for efficient light collection and a remarkably low read noise of 0.84e-, minimizing unwanted noise and artifacts. Additionally, the IMX224 sensor offers excellent near-infrared sensitivity, allowing astrophotographers to utilize IR-pass filters to cut through atmospheric turbulence and reveal finer details on planetary surfaces.

Fast Data transfer speed:

One of the standout features of the G3M224C is its incredible data transfer speed. Equipped with a USB 3.0 interface, the camera can achieve an astonishing 150 frames per second at its full 3.8MP resolution, making it ideal for capturing high-resolution videos of fast-moving planetary objects. The built-in 512MB DDR3 memory buffer ensures seamless video recording without dropped frames, even during extended capture sessions.

The G3M224C also features an ST-4 autoguiding port, enabling precise tracking and guiding during long-exposure deep-sky imaging sessions. This versatility allows the camera to be used for both planetary and deep-sky astrophotography applications.

Constructed with a robust aluminum alloy body, the G3M224C is built to withstand the rigors of astrophotography, while its compact 1.25" barrel size ensures easy integration with most telescopes and off-axis guiders (OAG not included). The camera is compatible with a wide range of popular astrophotography software, seamlessly integrating into existing imaging workflows.
